Liquid color-matching is an oft-used one, but really more focused on liquid handling workflows and falls into the trap of using optical characterization because it’s more straightforward to automate. It gets a bit boring and doesn’t capture as much complexity, but it’s still often a multi-device setup and one that requires orchestration on a small scale.
