AC BO Hackathon

Scientists from the Acceleration Consortium @ University of Toronto and Merck KGaA are hosting a 2-day virtual hackathon (March 27 & 28: 9am-1pm ET) for researchers to work collaboratively in teams on projects related to Bayesian optimization for chemistry and materials. :point_right: See https://ac-bo-hackathon.github.io/ for more info.

While this site serves the broader Acceleration Consortium community at large, the bo-hackathon label within the Tools category serves as a more persistent and public-facing discourse than the real-time focused Slack channel and Gather.Town communication platforms attached to the hackathon.

Thanks Sterling for organizing this amazing event! I had a blast participating. My favourite part was the GatherTown posters where we could interact with people around the world to tell them all the things we learned about Bayesian optimization over the last two days!

P.S. We got the opportunity to take this project to the next level and we’re planning to submit to NeuRIPS 2024! fingers crossed

Amazing! Thanks for the feedback, and I’m glad you were there to participate. I’m excited to hear about the next steps to your project!

For anyone that happens upon this, Stanley’s project is:

Btw, hoping to make some progress on the hackathon manuscript soon!
