Live assessments of SoTA

How can we keep up to date with the state of the art (SoTA) for autonomous science in a rapidly changing and evolving ecosystem?

This forum has a “Tools” category, and @sgbaird has a nice Github repository for this purpose. What else can we do? Are there any automation or AI tools we can leverage for this purpose? Should this be totally driven by human contributions?

I’ve started using GitHub Copilot Coding Agent extensively (separate from GitHub Copilot Chat - Agent Mode). You can see an example of this here: Add EPICS · Issue #74 · AccelerationConsortium/awesome-self-driving-labs · GitHub (navigate to corresponding pull request). I use this pattern frequently now, but for this repo specifically, it’s helping to reduce some of the maintenance burden. I have also been exploring connecting Future House or other literature-based tools to these sorts of workflows as well.

Very cool idea - maybe we can do the same to maintain lists of tools, publications, instruments, etc.
